The challenges of the last mile delivery sector

In order to face the new market challenges- such as the growth of the e-commerce, the increasing urbanization process and the development of new technologic features and the circulation of innovative Zero-Emission/green Vehicles- the Last mile workers must progress from simple deliverers to innovators in order to improve the last-mile efficiency. Innovation must be the priority: the use of green vehicles (automatic vehicles, electric bikes, drones), contactless delivery and real-time tracking and home delivery omni-channel are the innovative bounders of the last mile delivery.

With different sales channels in a single platform, companies can use specialized delivery options to reduce costs and improve the service, offering the customer different options on how and when the item should  be delivered.
